Kevin S. Barber concentrates his practice on commercial lending transactions, including the structuring, documentation and negotiation of asset-based, general secured and unsecured, construction and mezzanine loans, as well as commercial loan workouts. He also has experience in a wide variety of real estate finance and development matters, including commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, equity contributions, private placements and leasing transactions. His clients include commercial lending institutions, public companies, private developers, landlords and tenants.
Prior to joining Ledgewood, Kevin was a Member at the law firm of Cozen & O’Connor in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He received his law degree from Villanova University School of Law in 1997, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Villanova Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree from the College of the Holy Cross in 1994, where he majored in both Economics and Political Science.
Kevin has served as an adjunct professor at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. In 2005 Kevin was a member of the English Department at Villanova University where he taught a legal writing and analysis course. He previously taught a similar course at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law to graduate students enrolled in Temple’s International LL.M program.
He was recognized as a “Pennsylvania Rising Star” in Real Estate by the publishers of Law & Politics and Super Lawyers in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010.
Kevin is admitted to practice in both the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey.
Kevin is also a licensed commercial and residential real estate broker.
