The scope of our practice includes commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, the origination, acquisition and assumption of construction, bridge, mezzanine and permanent loan financing, commercial real estate collateralized debt obligations (CRE CDOs) and other securitized financing vehicles, preferred equity investments, defeasance transactions, loan participations, A/B structures, revolving lines of credit, syndication of limited partnership interests and tenancies in common (TICs), real estate investment trusts (REITs), property and asset management contracts, distressed loan portfolio acquisitions, defaulted loan workouts, deeds in lieu, condominium conversions and more.  Our attorneys have earned a reputation as creative thinkers and problem-solvers when it comes to addressing the needs of our real estate and commercial finance clients.

Examples of typical real estate and commercial finance transactions include:

  • Acquisition of distressed loan portfolios from the Department of Housing and Urban Development;

  • $500 million credit facility for acquisition of distressed loan and property portfolios;

  • $80 million preferred equity investment in multi-family apartments;

  • $70 million senior loan for acquisition of office complex in the Chelsea section of Manhattan;

  • Lease Agreement for 15,000 sq. ft. in commercial office space in Philadelphia; and

  • Origination or acquisition of over $1.8 billion in commercial mortgage loans, mezzanine loans and preferred equity investments.
